WELCOME to my website!
This website will express Engineering Opinions and non-party Political Options for UK from the point of view of an engineer. My motive is to STIMULATE CHANGE.
I am now retired, but believe in keeping physically and even more importantly, mentally active. I am a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineering and of the Chartered Management Institute.
I am a News addict watching all four main UK Channels and I am member of the European Movement and support Open Britain. I relax with Smooth Radio, Classic FM and supporting Saracens Rugby.
I read extensively of The Economist, The New European and The Week, together with many technical magazines, such as the Professional Engineering, Plant & Works Engineering, Engineering Capacity and Document Manager, see https://document-manager.com/
My experience was over 50 years with ICI, BNFL, Davy, and Intergraph, with lengthy consultancy assignments with London Underground and AstraZeneca, in applying computers to 2D & 3D CAD, Document Management and Asset Management. There were some short, but very different assignments for Martin-Baker Aircraft Co and the Royal College of Music.
I also devoted 30 years part-time to The Open University tutoring their first & second level Engineering courses, the three levels of Systems Thinking Courses of problem-solving techniques and a MSc for technical managers. I experienced all aspects of the OU, residential schools, setting and marking exams and for 4 years as External Examiner in Systems Thinking for the Arab Open University in Kuwait.
I am active on LinkedIn where I have made 625 daily posts of technical progress in climate change mitigation. Engineering and Science are mitigating climate change and can do so much more with political backing.
